Magnavox DCC 600, Only plays B side

I have recently replace the central gear (that always breaks), both belts and both pinch rollers. after which my Magnavox DCC 600 will only play side A for a couple seconds before auto switching to side B (which it will then play just fine). Which makes listening to a DCC quite difficult. The problem is the same for both DCCs and Standard Cassettes.

All my repairs went smoothly, is there something obvious to take a look at and see if I messed something up?
