Technics RS-DC8 problem

Hello! I would like to ask for advice on repairing a DC8. After switching on, it immediately displays “over”, analog playback works, capstan belt has been replaced. What could be the problem? I have an oscilloscope and a service manual. Where should I start troubleshooting?
Sorry for my poor English.

Best Regards,

Zoltán

Sorry, “over” is not an error message. I can’t measure the correct signal on the 8 digital pins that come directly from the head with the oscilloscope. The impedance of the head coils is 40 ohms (0CH-7CH). In service mode, E2 1111111111 are all ones, which means that there may be a head, ic1, etc. maybe faulty. Has anyone experienced this?

You could try and replacing all caps on the RW board, but from the message in the service menu, it seems that head is defective. Very common on this device unfortunately.

Thank you very much, I also think the head is defective. Is it still possible to get one like this somewhere? I understand that the Philips DCC900 has such a head.
