Something is missing

I wanted to make a new recording with a brand-new tape. Inserted the new tape and I heard a strange rattling noise.
Uhh something is missing :astonished:

That shell must have been opened once. Either that or a manufacturing fault.

I wonder: how is the tape spooled then?

It looked ok with the tape inside on the side where the ‘gear’ is. very strange how it could go wrong like this. Never seen it before nor with a normal cassette…
