Rediscovering DCC recording for the 21st Century

There is no purpose to this post, but just wanted to share. Everything is streaming these days. The ability to record anything is being hindered by lack of connectivity. PC’s or Macs have mostly lost their analogue or even digital outputs. HDMI is King, (or Queen). Getting a connection to a legacy audio device involves dongles, adapters or other inventive methods.

I recently purchased a Fiio R9 and my recording life has changed. I can now make physical copies of virtually anything. The optical and coaxial outputs let me stream and record to my DCC730, (DAT and Minidisc), easier and simpler then I have ever managed before. No more CD’s, LP’s and myriad cables. A single toslink is all I need.

I’m burning through my stash of tapes. The higher quality of streaming services like Apple Music make the recordings sublime!

Happy Days!

Hi @vinnypowell Maybe it is nice to share your findings after using the player and making recordings to even further improve our recordings while using such a device, with maybe pictures or maybe a video.
It looks like very much fun together the combination of old recording with new ways of streaming.
