I recently bought a commercial pre-recorded tape of Nat King Cole. To my dissappointment the tape was completely blank, no music at all. Something must have happened to it in the past!
Question: is it possible to record the music again on this tape via a laptop.
Second question: if so, how to bring back the song info on the tape?
It most likely means, you have an early sample. They were for visual sampling only.
Often the tape inside is not the correct length.
Easiest way is to record the music on a recordable DCC and then transfer that tape into the pre-recorded one. You could also drill holes into the tape, to make the deck think its a pre-recorded.
Limited song info can be done by certain players. 3rd and 4th generation and a 175 portable with cable.
