Hi everyone,
I bought a 300 a while back it was working properly, playing & recording tapes fine & all controls functional except for tape loading which wouldn’t work properly: not inserting the tape to its proper playing position without a bit of help from my finger (unit cover off), due to the tray mechanism belt needing replacement I assumed, I changed it (following Ralf explanation video) powered the unit and everything worked fine, tape loading properly by itself and playing tape fine, start, stop, eject and all other controls working fine & responding properly then on second tape loading heard some faint noises then display went black, not any of the controls functioning, it appears like the unit isn’t powered anymore. I looked for fuses but couldn’t find any, the unit seems completely dead
Anyone with an idea or having encountered the same or similar problem? your help would be much appreciated
Check the fuse, maybe you see some damage on the board. You could also check if there is power on the board. Be carefully wenn plugged in.
Thanks for the tip, I noticed since I first wrote that there are 3 fuses on the board right next to the transformer I will measure those to see if they are ok or gone. are there any other elsewhere?
Hi, easiest way is to check the service manual.
I couldn’t find it in the DCC forum site but this is a download link:
I also have service manuals on my website: Home/Documentation/Service Manuals | DigitalCompactCassette.github.io
