New Felt Pads

Hi Ton,

Many times I do the same trick, with tapes that have problems. Like the ones that suddenly switch A/B sides in the middle of the tape, or they just stop. Caused by a dirty and sticky spot on the tape.

These bad spots on tape are caused by felt pads inside the DCC cassette (not the visible one opposite the DCC head but inside the cassette). Caused by long storage of tapes, when tapes aren’t rewound back to the beginning.

Als sometimes these bad spots cause real physical damage to your tape when reel friction / forward tension of the player is too high.

My credo: Always rewind tapes to the beginning when storing them!
