Found something interesting. In a user manual for the DCC 170, I discovered a receipt from the employee store in the Philips shop at the PSV stadium in Eindhoven. Unfortunately, the player isn’t working well. Would I still get a warranty if I brought the player in for repair there?

Joking aside, the player was purchased at that time for 300 euros, which I believe was well below the original price.
What struck me was that this was also well after Philips had stopped selling the DCC, specifically on July 11, 1997.
So, there must have been a period when the remaining stock was sold off in this way.
I’m going to try to bring the player in tomorrow, just to see what happens.
