Headphone socket repair on dcc600

Having just successfully got my dcc 600 playing again, after fitting new belts and gears (thanks to dcc museum for the parts and videos), I started to monitor via headphones and discovered the socket was not working well. Moving the jackplug around enabled me to hear both channels well, but I suspect some faulty joints where the socket is soldered to the circuit board.

I can’t find any videos to help me dismantle the machine to the point where I could get those joints repaired. Does anyone know where I can get help with this please?

Thanks a lot

Paul

Hi Paul and welcome.

We never had to repair a socket on a 600.

Here is the page for the 600, including a download to the service manual.

Hope that it helps.

HI drdcc,

Many thanks for the reply, I’ll take a look at the manual and hopefully tackle the job in a while. For now, I’m enjoying being able to hear the tapes again as the line out seems to work justr fine.
