Digital recording from streaming device

Hi there, I’m new into DCC and would like to know the following:
digital recording via coax from my CD player works flawlessly. But when connecting to my streaming device (Argon Solo), the DCC-91 cannot start recording (“check dig in”). Why is that? How can i record off my NAS, or directly from online music sources?

It could either be an increased sample-rate or due to Serial Copy Management System - Wikipedia.

I have tried to stream various digital files with differring (constant) bitrates and 44.1kHz - same error, my player appearantly doesn’t “recognize” the streaming device. I have only got this one, so I cannot continue with further tests.

Did you make sure that your source is outputting in PCM stereo format?

Dolby Digital or DTS or any number of channels other than 2, will not be recognized by any DCC recorder. Furthermore if it’s SCMS protected, the recorder will recognize it but won’t let you record.

So what I’ve done is this: I invested 20EUR in an tiny device that can be found here, https://www.thomann.de/de/fun_generation_ua_202.htm, and directly linked my PC with the DCC-91. E voilà - it now works perfectly, and the first recordings have taken place!
The streamer’s producer claimed that “bit-perfect, meaning it outputs exactly what it is streaming. For example, CD quality remains CD quality, Hi-Res remains Hi-Res, and so on. The output is PCM with 2 channels. I consulted with our CEO, and he mentioned that the issue could be due to copyright protection by the streaming service.”
So, appearantly, something is weird because the same files that I recorded just today cannot be transferred via my streamer. Anyway…
Thanks for all your valuable help!
