DD-82 Recapacide

Hello everyone,

I own several DCC units and recently purchased another from eBay: [Marantz DD-82 DCC digital Compact Cassette. | eBay].

The unit arrived in very rough condition, with nicotine residue throughout. Mechanically, however, it seems solid. Upon inspection, it appears one of the large power capacitors has vented inside.

Initial tests produced no audio, but after a few minutes, analog sound returned at a very low volume.

I started repairs by cleaning and replacing all the SMD capacitors on the digital plug-in board on the main PCB. Following this, DCC playback worked perfectly, even without touching the original head board.

Next, I removed the head board and recapped it as well. Here, I encountered two issues:

  1. I didn’t have any 68µF capacitors available, so I temporarily substituted them with 100µF capacitors (correct replacements are on order).
  2. Unfortunately, while removing the last capacitor, one of the PCB traces broke off completely, leaving no visible pad or trace to solder onto.

Now, analog playback is perfect, but digital playback has disappeared—likely due to the disconnected capacitor.

Does anyone know how I can correctly jumper the missing connection for the 4.7µF capacitor to its intended connection point? I’m assuming the correct attachment point might be on the opposite side of the board.

It’s frustrating to have gotten 99% of the way there and then encounter this issue.

Thanks in advance for any assistance or advice!

update:
I have checked the schematics and it appears I need to connect the right hand side of this capacitor to R133 . can anyone confirm this is correct?
