I have two stationary DCC players, a DCC730 and a DCC951. One of them displays **ERROR 111111.., and the other shows 00000… You can check online how many digits are usually displayed. I’ve replaced the pinch rollers on both units and cleaned them thoroughly. Both players can play analog tapes without any issues, and the sound quality is excellent.
Is there anything specific I should do to ensure the DCC951 remains operational? As far as I understand, the heads on these devices are extremely sensitive. I’ve read about a service modification involving adding a resistor—does this apply to the DCC951? I had a functioning DCC730 earlier, and after making that modification, it worked fine. However, after leaving it unused for a while, it no longer functions.
Additionally, I have a DCC170, for which I’ve replaced the belt, and it’s now working well. Is there anything I should consider to ensure its longevity? I’ve noticed that the plastic parts are becoming brittle and fragile over time.
Do the capacitors on these devices need replacement, or is that unnecessary?
