I got one kind of working and one non-functional DCC600. What exactly has to be done to keep them in great shape?
In most cases it is just the tray belt, that prohibits loading the tape.
Eventually you need to reed to replace the spider/gear inside the mechanism.
Pinch rollers are usually never a problem, but you could consider replacing them and the main belt at the same time when replacing the gears.

Are the capacitors usually fine?
Capacitors are usually not an issue on any 2nd gen. Player.
