DCC170: Voltage drop with 3D-printed batteries left in device

I have done some extensive testing with a 3D-printed battery bracket from the DCC museum and an 18650 cell inside a DCC170. I have noticed that the battery, when left in the device unused, will lose about 80-100mV in 24 hours. That’s a very high number. This means that a 3,6V battery will roughly loose about half its charge in two weeks or so. I will stop working much sooner, as the required 4,8V will likely not be attainable much more quickly.

Is this kind of voltage to be expected? Could someone corroborate my findings?

Thanks!
Bijan

Hi,
I think that is correct. In our previous testing, it seemed always best to remove the battery from any portable when not using. The electronics will only stop converting to 4.8V when not in the device.
