DCC 730/951 R/W board capacitors, beware

Hello,
Just to say (and maybe confirm?) than our 730 and 951 can start to suffer from bad capacitors on the R/W board. (keep in mind this board run hot and heat cycles is a thing for smd capacitors)

i recently bring back with me one of my 730 i didn’t used since 2017 or 2018.
was working fine when i stocked it in a good place.
but before powering it blindely, i decided to take a look inside… just in case… and yes, i was right to do so.

here the result : https://youtu.be/MDlmdsseuSY?si=_06dTH1Kl8aYretP
this video was an answer for MrBetaByte, but i decided to share here too.
i think it’s always better to warn against this as it’s going to show more and more i guess…

at the time i write, i cleaned the board and replaced capacitors with smd tantalum, all is perfectly fine.
so don’t waste time waiting, REPLACE.

picture after work :

cheers

I have a 951 that I keep as a spare… I will have a good look, if wrong I will replace them…

I don’t know about those tantilum caps though…
