DCC 300 keeps eating tapes

Dear DCC members,

I have a DCC 300 player that’s keep eating tapes. (Both analog and digital)

I have opened up the deck and the original gear whas broken. I looked on the internet locally and found a replacement gear (red en flexibel like the one the DCC Museum offers). But i don’t think it whas a good copy. Because it size differs from the original one. So i got a other red gear wich size whas much better like the original one but also this gear got broken within 20 minutes of playtime. I tried now everything possible. Replaced the 2 belts for the tray and capstans.

Today i glued the original gear together to try of this worked for the time being. But no succes.

When i insert a tape, it will play for a second and then turns to side b and plays side b for 1 second.

When i exit the cassette the tape hangs out for like 4cm.

So it keeps on eating tape.

Is there something more that could be wrong or is the gear the only part responsible for this malfunction. If so i will be ordering this gear from the DCC Museum so it has to be the right size and gear.

After cleaning my Philips DCC300 with dcc-cleaning cassette, I have the same problem, did you solved?

Yes I did solved the issue.

It whas the “new” red gear. I bought the new white harder gear and that solved the problem.

there whas a video updat of the dcc museum that the red gear over time is shrinking a little bit. And that gave the problem. I saw the video after it whas released and knew this hat to be it!
