Cassette Grinding pressure or placement

Hi, on my DD-82 deck, most problems of reading seems to come of cassette grinding pressure in the autoreverse cassette deck, In 2008-2010 i … upgraded the spring just a little bit… i didn’t have no choice ! What do you think about this ? what is your recommendations ? i would want to know what is the use of the part identified “mode switch” on the service manual thanks.

Hi,
That is creative to say the least, but not a long term solution.
There is clearly a mechanical problem with the mechanism.

I have seen this before when the metal cross bar was removed and the spring damaged.
In that case it is best to replace the spring and possible the cross bar.

We have them if needed from a donor.
