Cannot record via Digital Coax jack -Philips 900 DCC

I have a properly working Philips 900 DCC deck.

I am trying to digitally record music directly from my HiFi Rose RS-250 DAC/Streamer into the Digital Coax port. The file I am playing is in fact a FLAC 192 or 384 high-res format. Is the Philips BLOCKING me from recording directly digital to digital ?

Thanks to anyone in this foru who can possibly help me.

Kindest regards,

Mike

Make sure your player is streaming in PCM Stereo at 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz. The digital inputs on DCC recorders only accept those formats as input (not Dolby Stereo or Dolby Surround or DTS Surround). If you’re trying to send anything else, you will see “CHECK COAX INPUT” or something like that.

If your player is sending SCMS bits that make the recorder think you’re trying to copy something that’s already a copy, you will see “COPY PROHIBIT”. You would need to find an SCMS defeater or use another device as input. I think many HDMI to S/PDIF converters will take care of this. You can get those on Amazon.
