As I said, and maybe I should have been clearer, playing that particular tape in different models gives different results. And I got another model to add to the testresults:
A 175: player completely shuts down at that point. Powered off.
A 730: player stops playing and stays on.
A 600: player continues playing as if nothing happened. ‘marker’ is briefly lit in the display as expected. As there is no music recorded beyond this point, the playback is silent from that point.
Fun eh, this DCC technique!
